We are looking for volunteers who can help the young women who are part of the Women4IT programme in deciding which path they would like to take, how to seek employment, or getting any advice from professionals who are employed in the same industry.
The aim of the Women4IT project, funded by the EEA Grants for Youth Employment, is to improve diversity in the digital sector and at the same time to provide opportunities for young women in Ireland to gain employment in entry-level IT/Digital roles.
Our partner PLAN in Spain has been involved with Accenture in a mentoring programme, which had very positive feedback. The students have said that meeting with the Accenture staff is very helpful and inspirational as they can help them in planning their career.
Some of the professionals from Accenture in Spain are starting the mentoring process in May with the participants of the Women4IT project in Ireland.
The participants in Ireland.
We have successfully trained 71 young women for the below training programmes:
- Data Analysis
- Web Development
- Digital Media Marketing
- Graphic Design
They all come from different backgrounds (IT, engineering, digital marketing, tourism, etc..) and are now entering the employment phase. Some of them are looking for a job in the digital sector; others are planning to start their own business. They are eager to build their new career and some guidance from professionals in the field would greatly help them in achieving their professional goals.
